ABOUT

Originally from Ireland, I am a London based Choreographer, Dance Artist, Performance Artist, DJ, Radio Host, Promoter and Curator. My performance work varies from body based performance art to choreographed dance work. I explore themes of gender, identity and sexuality, with a queer/feminist approach which reflects all aspects of my work in other fields. I use of my body as a political force to question the construction of my own identity and where my female body lies in relation to art and to society. I have presented work globally from UK, Asia, Russia, Scandinavia and across Europe, and have performed in some larger venues such as Tate Modern and the V&A, London, Tempting Failure Festival, The Venice International Performance Art Week and The International Festival of Intermedia, Hong Kong.

I am a member of CUNTemporary collective (Arts, Feminism, Queer), where I am head editor of a monthly newsletter documenting various queer and feminist events across London, as well as helping to produce our regular trash performance art nights and conferences.

I have taught classes and workshop in schools and Universities, varying from specifics of my practise to broader dance classes across the UK, Ireland, Germany and Norway. Mentoring at levels up to BA and Masters students.

I am artistic director of Puppy, a London art club night which sees up to 50 artists a night varying from performance, film, AV, music and fine art. I also host a monthy radio show on Threads Radio discussing Live Art, hosting interviews and playing music or noise art by prominent performance artists.

I am also a member of the We Are The Wick artist collective based in Hackney Wick. WATW is an art project focused on protecting the community based around the area.

In 2016 I was granted a residency at The Island art space in Bristol to develop work on Chat Room and in 2018 spent one week in Invererne, Scotland creating original work on a residency there. I also held a residency for one week in Hannover at Studio Ilka Theurich to research new work. Also through Chat Room I spoke as a panelist for Putting in a Good Performance, The Ethics of Presenting Sex for a Live Audience at Camden People's Theatre.

In 2018 myself and Sofia Nakou were commissioned by the Edinburgh University law department to create original work to be toured and documented in a new publication in 2019, and was also commissioned by the Mandrake Hotel to make original work for their Invisible theatre project. I was also commissioned by Uncencored Festival to create new work.

I currently hold an MA in Live Art from The Live Art Development Agency and Queen Mary University of London, I hold a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatiore of Music and Dance, before that studying in Kingston University, HZT Berlin and Sallynoggin, Dublin.
